JSD publishes articles in fields:

Systems Modelling and Sciences, Environmental Policy and Management, Disaster Mitigation, Regional Planning, Water Pollution, Air Pollution, Environmental Sciences, Ecotourism, Biodiversity, Environmental Economics, Public Communications, Social Sciences, Social Anthropology, Environmental Health.

Peer Review Process
Submitted papers are evaluated by anonymous referees by double blind peer review for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation. Editor in Chief will assign the manuscript to a corresponding Section Editor for further handling. The Section Editor will request at least 3 related scientists to review the manuscript. Based on the comments from the Reviewers, Section Editor and Editor in Chief will make the decision on the manuscript.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download.  We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license options, currently being defined for this journal as follows:

How To Register

  1. Author should register through the following address: http://journal.sysdyn.org/index.php/JOSD/user/register
  2. Author should fulfill the form, especially on the star mark. On the Confirmation Register section, please give your selection as author, reviewer, or both of them. After all the form was filled, click on "Register" to process the registration.
  3. Please go to User Home and select your role as Author. In Active Submission, click on "Click here: to go to step one of the five-step submission process".
  4. These are the five-step submission process:
    • Step 1. Starting the Submission On the Journal Section, select the appropriate section of journal, i.e. Articles. Author has to check-mark on the submission checklists. Author is able to give brief information to Editor about the submitted manuscript on the Comment form. Please click on the "Save and continue" button to go to the further step.
    • Step 2. Entering the Submission's Metadata.
      Author should enter metadata of all authors engaged in the writing process. The information of manuscript title, abstract, and keywords must be filled in the textbox.
    • Step 3. Uploading the Submission
      To upload manuscript to this journal, author should click Browse to find the manuscript file on the hard drive. Choose the file and click Upload button. Once the submission is uploaded, click Save and Continue on the bottom of this page.
    • Step 4. Uploading Supplementary Files
      The supplementary file should be uploaded is form A, consisting of Statement of Originality and Copyright Release Form. Therefore, click on Browse button, choose the file, click on Upload button, and click on Save and Continue.
    • Step 5. Confirming the Submission
      Author has to check that all documents are complete. To submit the manuscript to Journal of System Dynamics (JSD), click Finish Submission button. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.

Author is able to trace the submission manuscript status including manuscript review and editorial process by logging in to the journal web.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES
JOURNAL OF SYSTEM DYNAMICS
Journal of System Dynamics (JSD) is a publication media for original manuscripsts related to Systems Modelling and Sciences written in bahasa Indonesia or in English.

JSD is published three times a year (April, August and December). Manuscripts accepted for publication in JSD may be in form of a scientific research paper (maximum during the past 10 years), policy analysis or research note. JSD covers topics related to Systems Modelling and Sciences, Environmental Policy and Management, Disaster Mitigation, Regional Planning, Water Pollution, Air Pollution, Environmental Sciences, Ecotourism, Biodiversity, Environmental Economics, Public Communications, Social Sciences, Social Anthropology, Environmental Health.

Manuscript received shall never been published before and not in the process of scientific publication in national and/or international publications. Manuscripts shall be written in accordance to the JSD manuscript writing guideline.

  1. Standard of reporting
    Authors should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior are unacceptable. Professional publication articles should also be accurate and objective, and editorial ‘opinion’ works should be clearly identified.
  1. Authorship of the Paper and Copyright
    Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported work. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Whilst those who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate and inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication. No manuscript can be published unless accompanied by a signed publication agreement, which serves as a transfer of copyright from author to publisher. A copy of that agreement is required after the paper is accepted.

  1. Manuscript preparation
    Use the English language or Indonesian language and the SI system (System International Unites, often referred as "International Units") for measurements and units. Manuscript in MS Word or PDF format (generated from MS Word) is to be submitted online through http:// http://journal.sysdyn.org/index.php/josd. An abstract between 100 and 200 words describes the significance of manuscript should be included. The authors should supply 5-10 keyword or phrases that characterizes their manuscript. Use 11 pt Times New Roman fonts for body of the text with 1.0 line spacing between lines. The references should be numbered consecutively in the order of their appearance and should be complete, including authors’ initials, the title of the paper, the date, page numbers, and the name of the sponsoring society. Please compiles references as shown in the examples below. Figures are printed in black & white, while colour figures are only available online. Therefore, the choice of colours should be ensured that it will be clear when those are printed in black and white. Adjust the size of figures and tables as they will be appeared. All figure captions should be legible, minimum 8 point type. For all equations, use either Microsoft Equation Editor or Math Type add-on. Equations are numbered consecutively in parenthesis, e.g. (1), and set at the right margin

  1. Author Fee
    Author whose paper is accepted for publication in Journal of System Dynamics is subjected to pay 40 USD or Rp. 500.000,-

  1. References
    References contain literatures cited in the manuscript. References are written in alphabetical order of the last name of the literature’s main author. References are typed with font size 10 points with spacing of 1.15. Sources with the same author (or group of authors) are written in chronological order. The references should be numbered consecutively in the order of their appearance and should be complete, including authors’ initials, the title of the paper, the date, page numbers, and the name of the sponsoring society. We suggest authors to use reference management software such as EndNote (http://endnote.com/downloads/styles), Mendeley (https://www.mendeley.com/features/reference-manager/), etc., to prepare citations and the list of references.
    There are points to be noted in writing references as follows:
    1. Shall consist minimum 10 referred literatures.
    2. At least 80% of the referred literatures are published within the past 10 years.
    3. Minimum 80% of the referred literatures are journals.
    4. Avoid referring from popular books and internet.
    5. Literatures from the internet that are allowed as reference are those from government agency’s or private institution’s official website.
    6. Papers presented at a seminar, conference or symposium but not published in a proceeding book or other scientific publications are not allowed as reference.
    7. Abstracts are not allowed as reference.

PUBLICATION PROCEDURE

Authors shall register through webpage http://journal.sysdyn.org and submit a softcopy of manuscript online. Figures and tables included in the text shall be submitted in a separate folder containing files in their original format (.xls, .xlsx, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF) to simplify the editing process. Also upload Form Statement of Originality-Copyright Release Form JSD and other supporting attachments as Supplementary Files.

Manuscripts received by the editorial office will be sent to the editor and section editor. Editor and section editor will select and shortlist the manuscripts. The editor and section editor has the right to reject a manuscript if the manuscript is not in accordance with the scope, category and writing guidelines of JSD. The section editor will ask authors to make improvements/revisions before the manuscript is sent to reviewers.

Shortlisted manuscripts will be reviewed by minimum two experts in the concerned field. Corresponding authors will be informed by e-mail and can check on their account, on the progress of their submission. After the review process by the two reviewers, most likely the manuscript will be returned to the author with minor or major repairs. Author can improve his overall manuscript based on the review result and send the edited manuscript back as a revision, and must inform to Journal@sysdyn.org to undergo the procedure once again. Lengthy assessment process for each script demanded writers to be commited and responsive to the progress of his manuscript.
